cg compress ?options? file ...
Summary
Compresses files using a choice of methods
Description
The given files are compressed, and the original uncompressed
files are removed (by default). Files already compressed using
another method, are recompressed.
Options
supports options:
- -m method (--method)
- method used to compress: zst, lz4, gz, bgz, rz (default is
zst)
- -k 0/1 (--keep)
- keep the original uncompressed file if 1 (default 0)
- -t number (-threads)
- Use number of threads to do the compression
- -c number (--compressionlevel)
- number indicating compression level, where smaller numbers
indicates faster compression (default and meaningfull values
depends on method)
- -b number (--blocksize)
- number indicating the blocksize in Kb (default depends on the
method)
- -i 0/1 (--index)
- also create an index file (if applicable)
- -t number (--threads)
- use number of threads for compression (if supported by
the method)
- -o filename (--outputfile)
- The compressed file will be written to filename. If
the --keep option is not explicitely given, using -o will change
the "default" for -k to 1.
supports job options:
- -d x
- distribute subjobs of command over x processes
- -d sge
- use grid engine to distribute subjobs
- -d slurm
- use slurm to distribute subjobs
